Vorder- und Hinterrad des neuen Battlax BT 016 Pro verfügen über die bekannten Bridgestone Multi-Layer-Compound-Technologien.
An beiden Rädern werden jeweils zwei verschiedene Gummimischungen im 3LC-(Three Layer Compound-) Verfahren verbaut:
Die Mischung in der Mitte der Lauffläche sorgt für gute Bremskraftübertragung am Vorderrad bzw. für hohe Traktion und Laufleistung am Hinterrad, die Gummimischung auf der Reifenschulter ist zuständig für maximale Haftung in Schräglage.
Die im BT 016 Pro verwendeten Gummimischungen wurden völlig neu entwickelt und verleihen dem BT 016 Pro eine weiter verbesserte Nasshaftung, zugleich erhöhen sie die Laufleistung.
Dabei kommen die Technologien „Silica Rich EX“ (erhöhter Silica-Anteil in der Mischung) und „RC Polymer“ zum Einsatz. „RC Polymer“ unterstützt den Silica-Effekt und kontrolliert gleichzeitig die temperaturabhängige Veränderung der Gummimischung.
Der Aufbau von Vorder- und Hinterrad basiert auf Bridgestones bewährter HTSPC-Plattform (High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord) mit MSB-Stahlgürtel (Mono Spiral Belt).
Dank dieses Aufbaus werden das Kontrollieren von Slides und die Linientreue in Kurven optimiert, ohne auf gute Stoßdämpfung verzichten zu müssen.
Die erhöhte Steifigkeit der Konstruktion hilft, eine gleichbleibende Kontaktfläche und Stabilität bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten zu erhalten. Das Profil des Battlax BT 016 Pro blieb im Vergleich zum BT 016 unverändert.
